Quick question. Not really applicable to much else. But, didn't know where to ask.

In the not so distant future, I might be relocating to a job base in S. SF (near SFO). I'm looking (right now just vaguely) for housing areas. I'd like to be on the bay side (I think). Looking for a city environment, good public transportation, garage of some sort. Condo/loft/apartment style. No house, no yard. Nothing too terribly expensive (it'll be a govvy job). But, no slums.

Any help you can provide would be wonderful. Again, this isn't a rush. Just starting to feel the water.

South San Francisco isn't known for "good" public transportation. If you can find a place within walking distance of a BART station, great, but you'll need a car to get anywhere else. SF proper is a little better for public transit, though only if you live within walking distance of more than one transit line (i.e. MUNI, BART). SSF probably has more affordable housing than SF, so that's a consideration. Getting to SFO isn't a problem if you're near a BART station. One drawback to BART is that it only runs until midnight.

Burlingame is very close to the Airport and has a nice downtown nightlife.  It's has some nice areas to it as well.  Daly City is another option, not much of a nightlife there but it is very close to S.F. proper.

you guys are wonderful.

I'm familiar with BART (dad worked in the PR Dept for many years of my childhood - I loved riding BART free). Just not South of the city.
