M600 fuel pump replacement

In the middle of replacing vacuum petcock and fuel pump.
Replacement fuel pump is a rectangular pump from ca cycleworks.
The pentagonal pump mounting holes are different to the rectangular one.
What is the best way forward to mount new pump.
Use only one bolt or make an al backing plate with holes in the correct spot for the new pump
