Hi all, would like to add a temperature gauge instead of the its too late light to my 2001 916 s4.
Got the gauge, comes with a standard 1/8 NPT thread sensor.
Ideally if anyone has it, I'd like a resistance chart for the standard coolant sensor so I could compare, have rig up a test in the kitchen and my gauge/sensor turn out to be  spot on as a pair up to 102 c, as far as I can get with boiling water.

My sensor and the standard Ducati one are probably miles apart on resistance range but worth a try.

So if that does not pan out does anyone know what the standard sensor thread size is, found both M10 x 1 or M12 x 1.5 on the web, have couple of adaptors in the gauge kit but they look huge! rather buy correct one up front so I can do a fast swap over without a drain down.

Also which coolant sensor drives the light, there appear to be two.

Going to make a small dash panel for the gauge, will post pictures when its all done as cannot seem to find a how to already done on the web.
If anyone knows of one please point me at it.
Currently snow in the UK so not riding much :-[

Do you have two sensors with the same connector? One runs the gauge/light, although I don't recall seeing a coolant temp light on any Ducati, and the other reports engine temp to the ecu. On a Monster it's 12x1.5. You should also have a larger switch that controls the fan.

Your cluster should have a screen that reports temperature...no?

Both look the same. Unfortunately my 2001 s4 cluster has a warning light only, on the lower panel in between the clocks. I have seen a 2002 s4 cluster picture that has a digital readout in the clocks.

Any idea which of the two coolant sensors drives the cluster light ?

Thanks for the thread info, will look one up and compare to the ones that came in the kit, Martin

The sensor on the horizontal cylinder drives the light on the '01 S4, and the gauge on the '02 S4.

I've not seen a resistance vs. temp chart for the OEM sensor.

thanks for the info, found a print out on M12 etc thread sizing, the  temp gauge kit ones are too big, will order up an m12x1.5.

Dug around a bit more found a thread about alternate coolant temp sensors, bosh part no 0 280 130 023 or 026
