Basically on the 21st of june 2013. The Summer Solstice (Longest Day) here in the uk me my mate Kev and about 30 other nutters from www.pbmagforum.co.uk are going to ride from John O Groats the northernmost point of Scotland to Lands End the most southernl point of England.Thats 908 miles in 24 hours. In aid of Cancer Research UK
The whole thing was Kevs idea so the laws of friendship (bro code) say i have to do it.
As if that wouldn't be hard enough the challenge is to do iton Bikes that we have bought and made street legal for £300.
Now £300 doesnt not buy much motorclce nowadays.

check out the facebook group to see just what it buys.

I would love to do this trip on a Ducati but the budget was waaay too low.
So i bought the first bike i saw locally that was a decent engine size and relativley complete.
A 1984 yamaha xs400 Seca.

lovely isnt it?
It runs roughly tho cos the tank was rotten and the carbs are full of rust.
Other than that it need a clutch cable battery and indicator lense.
Cost me £200

The tank was rotten. The xs400 Seca was a one year only bike in the UK. So getting another tank that was any use in budget was going to be impossible.
so a 1991 xj600 tank FJ in the US i think. was sourced and with a little persuation will fit.

If any of you feel like supporting this heres my just giving page

Not a bad fine for £200.
Take some pics of the build/fix.

The XJ (FJ) tank is here to stay.
