So I'm trying to core the cans on an '09 696.  ran into a small issue right at the start.  I can't get the outer sleeve off.  I've tried the mallet, BP blaster, and heat.  it is currently 20F in the garage is this part of the issue.  should I bring the cans in and let them warm up to room temp then try the hammer again?

Thanks,

Sounds like a noble approach

Check out my post,
the left side is a pain in the A$&.
just use more heat. I used a jet heater to get them hot enough.

The left side has a sharper radius then the right, so it hits the shell. With a little more heat and some light force it comes off.
