Fuel pumps for carbed Monsters.

The hex vacuum fuel pump on the carbed Monster has an impressive flow rate. I have not seen them on the CCW site. A customer needs one for his modified 900. Who stocks them? Any sponsors?
The pump stocked by CCW might suit a 600/750 but it doesnt flow enough for my modified 900. OK if you're cruising. I 'll ask Candice if they will stock them.

Sudco has the pentagon pump, but with two outlets, genuine rebuild kits too. 


The only source I know of for a single outlet is your Ducati dealer, but I hear Polaris uses the single outlet on some of their snowmobiles.

I think Ski-Doo did also.

They were replaced under warranty because they didn't meet the volume requirements.

What's impressive about them? Aren't they relatively low psi? Couldn't you (as I have been advised by DP) run any old low psi fuel pump?

Volume and pressure are very different.

I'm sure he has a reason for wanting to stay with the vacuum pump.

This one is for a customer.

Modified carbed bikes with only a 300W alternator and lithium battery or high compression could do with getting rid of an electric fuel pump. Battery charging rates can be compromised with an electric fuel pump and only 300W to play with. Lithium batteries even more so.
I have seen hi comp carbed motors like the 900SS only turn over with the electric fuel pump disconnected.
So they help with charging or cranking issues.

The Weber carb needs high flow for its design (and float bowl type) but lower pressure between 2-3 psi. The Weber doesnt usually like a vacuum pulse pump, but the Monster pump has very high flow for what it is.  FCRs need high flow to stop accelerator pump lag but their float needles can be easily overcome by too much pressure (and a bit of dirt).

The oem Monster pump has excellent flow but low pressure, they're ugly, but they're good.
