I have a line on a well-priced ohlins du511 rear shock from a 1098s and am wondering if there's any chance it's a fit in the 696.  I don't know the eye-to-eye length (haven't asked yet since i JUST saw the ad).

More curious on the reservoir, I guess.  If there's space for it.

Thoughts?

I've been lazy, but I have an 848 shock that I've been wanting to check
The sizing is right but the reservoir does give concern.
not sure about the valving and/or spring rates.

Also check the stroke of the shock. You would not want a shock with considerably more stroke than stock since that would allow the rear wheel to hit something below your abcksie, should you hit something really substantial ....
Monster 900-2002 (sold, alive and well in the UK), 749R / 1100 HYM combo for track days, wifes / my Monster Dark 800-2003 (not entirely "Dark" anymore and a personal favourite) , 50% of 900SSie -2000 track bike for rainy days-now with tuned ST2 motor and Microtec ECU. Also parked due to having been T-boned on track.
