Well, I own M696. It's long tail is bit more than totally useless as a splash\dirt guard.
Everytime rain hits my ride, or I hit some dirt or water my back or back of my +1 is dirty. [puke]
What you people do with that? [bacon]
There are some solutions for single sidearm monsters like this:

but what old monster and 696 monster owners should do? [roll]
I am not pro in tech questions, but as any rider have some experience that I can share without claiming to absolute truth. Please use my advices responsibly.

That fender option is over $600.00 and you still need a fender eliminator......  I am making a sliding plate that mounts behind the tail tidy so that if I get caught out in the rain I can angle out the license plate and slide down the hidden "fender".  No idea if it will work yet lol.
Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.
Feel free to PM me if needed, otherwise you will find me elsewhere.

you could use that fender idea and mold on a "Fenda Extenda" to it or a couple and help prevent the syndrome...

or you could perhaps just put the tractor flap back on that it came with from the factory!!!

Yeah my solution would be to not cut the damn tail off, but my used Monster came with that feature.
Looks snazzy and all but I ride in the rain plus live on a dirt road so yeah I know about a wet ass, and have become
familiar with grit.

I used a old moto license plate on a cheap ugly bar stock with some plastic screws attached to my license plate, which is mounted
just under my tail light. It keeps the worst of the mud off but riding in the rain I still get a sizable puddle under my ass which finds
it's way in eventually. $600 for that guard below? That's 'tohtahly retahted'.

My solution is ugly enough to stow away in my ugly top case when not in use.
I figured on attaching and stowing it up above the rear hugger but turns out
to not be a ton of room under there when in action.

My bike is heading toward white-trash-fashion so this might fit bike better in the future.
I'll update with more current pic in a few days.
