Thanks to Duc Painter for helping figure out my overly rich idle problems, parts will be on the way soon. But, this posed an interesting question afterwards. Sheer curiosity got me wondering on the way home the other day when I saw a elevation 1500ft sign. If I ride to the other side of the island (Hawai'i), how messed up will my mixture be? So I looked it up. Seal level or there abouts up to 6000ft and back down.

The commute to work will be 1600ish ft down to nearly sea level, no worries since it'll only be a half hour ride. BUT, what if I want to play in the twisties ? The ride across the island is 1 1/2 hours so it wouldn't be for very long. Assuming stock jetting will be sufficient, what else should I consider ? The only modification so far is a K&N filter in a stock airbox.

I don't think you'll notice much, if at all, over the 1600' to sea level range.
It may be a bit leaner at sea level.

It'll get a bit fatter and lazier as you go up to 6000, but it's not going to hurt it.

Edit: realised you are talking feet and not metres ;D.

The mountain roads must be fantastic. Sounds like a better commute than mine.

Thanks SpeedDog. That makes me feel a lot better.

koko, do a search on YouTube for Ducati 916 Saddle Road. It gives an idea but its not a great vid.
