Exhaust smell after installing Termis

I notice the exhaust smells a lot stronger now with the Termis.  I stop at a light and I'm breathing strong exhaust fumes.  Is this strictly because the catalyst is gone and I'm basically just running a straight through silencer?  And not much of a silencer with the DB Killers removed...  [evil]

I don't have any check engine lights or anything and I did have the dealer tune it after I installed the whole kit.  This is the Termignoni slip on kit for the Monster 1100 EVO.

Bike runs great, much smoother and you can actually run at 3.5-4k rpms now and it doesn't feel like I'm bogging the engine.

It is running richer now with no cat, so ya, you smell unturned hydrocarbons.

I noticed the same thing with my 796.  It's stronger than my Sport 1000 was with Termis, but I think it's normal.

That's what I figured.  I know it is running richer as it is also running cooler.

Thanks for the responses.
