ok, I am just looking for a quick lowdown on tire tubes. There is a shit ton of confusing info on tire tubes online, some look comparable to metric tire sizes, some to inches.

I need tubes for 2.50-18 tires. Tubes with this designation should fit, correct? Is there a big difference between tube brands? Seems like the most important part is the diameter, yes?

Ugh, I apologize in advance, all this info is probably out there on the web, but I just want to order some damn parts and get this project moving.

Many Thanks!

you order the tube to fit the tyre, so whatever the tyre size is you need a tube that includes that size in it's fitting range.

any commonly used brand should be fine.

There is not a huge difference in brands, but there are some "heavy duty" tubes which use thicker material.  however, they are heavier too.

Tubes are made to a DOT spec so they can't vary much.  Any name brand will be comparable to another.

A tube will fit several sizes of tires -- when you get it, you'll see the range on the box.

2.5 x 18 eh?  what bike?
