Are there any recommendations on which route to go? I see there's a quick shfiter and traction control option for the Bazzaz, while PCV just has the fuel mapping option.

What can I expect in terms of driveability/performance/fuel economy? I have the DP Race ECU with the Termignoni's. When cold, the bike hesitates/stalls or doesn't even want to start below 50F. When fully warmed up, the bike runs smooth. Can I do anything with either the Bazzaz or PCV to resolve the cold starting?

I see the PCV has closed loop O2 optimization, which is like a workaround for an actual ECU calibration change. But it wouldn't change the open loop cells from what I have read. I see 2 bungs on my exhaust pipes downstream of the primary O2s, would I be able to use those for the Auto Tune and wideband O2 sensors? Can I remove the wideband and Auto Tune once I have built a map?

If you've not seen this its worth a read  >>  http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=53037.0

I have no NFE nor any real opinion on Bazzaz other than to say there seem to be positives and negatives for both Bazzaz and PCV.  Bazzaz IIRC deals with the closed loop in a more sneaky, smarter way (can remember exactly how) than the PCV which merely fattens up the fuelling in closed loop.

I can talk about PCV though.

Can I do anything with either the Bazzaz or PCV to resolve the cold starting?
Yes, PCV has an area specifically to add fuel on start-up.  Had zero starting issues with my M1100s since going down that route.

I see the PCV has closed loop O2 optimization, which is like a workaround for an actual ECU calibration change. But it wouldn't change the open loop cells from what I have read.
Yes.  And no.  PCV does employ "optimizers" to fatten up the AFR within the closed loop, you're right.  In closed loop PCV cannot manage fuelling, in open loop (above 3750rpm?? 4500rpm?? I forget exactly) you can mess with fuelling all you like.

I see 2 bungs on my exhaust pipes downstream of the primary O2s, would I be able to use those for the Auto Tune and wideband O2 sensors?
Dont think so.  IIRC the downstream bungs are smaller than the 14mm 02 bungs required (Autotune's wideband sensors are the same size and thread as your stock narrowband O2s).

Can I remove the wideband and Auto Tune once I have built a map?
Yes you can.   I prefer to leave the Autotune in situ to do its stuff on the fly as a permanent fixture.   But there's no reason why you couldn't pull it and run with its last mapping once you were happy.   Bear in mind that Autotune can only build a map around the AFR chart that YOU feed it.

Hopefully some of the Bazzaz guys will chime in to give their side of the story.

Have fun figuring out which way you wanna go  waytogo

I'm pretty sure Bazzaz doesn't use optimisers.

So maybe that's the way you should go.

They call theirs "O2 Eliminators". They sell O2 eliminators separately but only for Magneti Marelli Ducati bikes, which is kind of weird given the fact that they are supposed to include them in the 696 kits.

I'm worried that Dynojet's maps for the 696 all list "Stock ECU". What do I do when I use the Power Commander 5 with my DP ECU? Do i use all 0's for the open loop cells? Or do I load Dynojet's Termi w/o dB killers map (which is listed for Stock ECU)?

If you use all zeros for open loop cells it will have exactly the same effect as if you didnt fit the PCV at all.

Dynojet's "off the peg" PCV maps are just that - untailored.   If it works alright with the general stock ECU setup, no doubt it'll work alright with the general DP ECU setup too (just that any improvement may likely be slightly less obvious, is my guess).

If you decided on PCV.  Fit it.  Then maybe go see your local dynotune centre and let them worry about the numbers.
