Thoughts?  Has anyone attended in the past?  I am thinking of pulling my baffles out and spending some time with friends and the faithful.

I have not in the past...but I know people who have...I was told it was a very solemn ceremonial ride in comparo to the ride to the wall from the Pentagon.

I have been every year and each year has been a little different. The pattern more recently has been to stage at Air/Space Museum ride from there through the airport, then onto the access road, then I-66, rt. 110 to Pentagon with some cermonies at the Pentagon Memorial. That memorial is awesome if you have not seen it, not to say that the others aren't such as the Flight 93 up in PA. In years past they have blocked off the roads for the event. Last year they blocked Rt. 28 and then the roads leading to the terminal(Departure level) but once we got on the  access road we just stayed in the right lane and it did not look like they had blocked the entrance ramps like they had done in previous years. At any rate the rumble of Vtwins is still in the mix but many other brands have shown, it isn't a brand thing, I've ridden my Victory's and several of my Ducati's, never ridden Bubba in this event maybe I will this year. - Gene

Well, I attended Rattle the Runway yesterday and had a good time.  Here are my thoughts:

1. I got to hang out with some friends in the military and spend most of the day standing around, bullshitting, and checking out other bikes.  I think the real value was here... getting the bit of comradarie that I had in excess when I was in and dont get any now that I am out.
2. I got out of 2nd gear once.   bang head
3. There was a guy that was at least 300 pounds on a Z14.  This guy looked like a melted snowcone on a hot day.  Hil-arious.   laughingdp
4. We created a cluster pretty much the entire route.  The chain was broken several times but everyone made it.  The funny part were all the guys on the side of the road for quick repairs.  Evil
5. Some yokel came up and commented about how all he does is tow Ducatis and how unreliable they are.  I asked him if he had a contract with Ducati and it turned out he did.  I dont think he understood the reason I asked that question.
6. I saw a total of 5 Ducatis, to include myself. Three monsters and 2 848s.  Three of them ride together regularly and got bored of the column and took it upon themselves to buzz the faithful.

In all, I plan to attend next year if the guys I know do it.  Otherwise, I am not sure... perhaps I will do it to keep veterans on the political radar.

No clue... his slobbering speech, slouching shuffle, and general demeanor caused me to not pay much attention to him.
