Has anybody out there taken one of these things apart? I need to just get in the right lens to put the needle back in place. I noticed today the gasket around both lenses. Can't tell how this thing is put together by just noticing one tiny screw on the bottom of the middle light panel.

Thanks

It depends.

Which year and model are you asking about?

Sorry for not remembering.... there's quite a few folks here.

The reason I ask is, it's relevant.

The early Monster cluster, '02 - ~'04, cannot be disassembled without cutting.

Later ones, ~'05 and on, can be disassembled.

What can't be cut? Isn't the needle easily accessible without cutting? I have an '02 cluster and (what I was told) an '05 cluster. The only difference between the two is one has a second screw holding the front cover on vs being popped off.

yeah that's what I noticed about the little screw on the back of the light panel. I figured if I take that off why can't then the plastic around the lens just pop off, or maybe it's all connected together as one piece. I can't tell by looking at it, but I do notice that it looks possible to do..

Well once you get that first center piece off with the screw there should be one more screw directly underneath the cover to lift off the whole front cover.

Right in the middle where he lifted the cover off theres a screw hole.

I have gauges from a 2002 where theres one screw, and gauges from a 2005 where its two screws. The center one on both I believe is a torx bit.

thanks! this ones off a 2006 but it looks exactly like that. The right needle came out and is sideways between the plastic and face. Now I don't have to send it across the US to have someone else fix it and have it happen again when they send it back.
Seems whenever you send these the mail disrupts the right needle causing it to come off, had it happen twice.
