Have anybody used Barnett clutch plates instead of OEMs??? do I need to change springs too?? what else to change?? my bike has nearly 40000 on tacho... bearing in engine?? thanks a lot

Valve clearance, fluids... check user manual for detailed list of what you should check.
clutch plates - go OEM.
I am not pro in tech questions, but as any rider have some experience that I can share without claiming to absolute truth. Please use my advices responsibly.

I've checked valve clearance 2months ago...it is like it has been just adjusted..

yeah.. fluids I've forgotten... what abou these bearings??

Howie

If the bearings are good leave them.  I check mine when I do tires,  They were good for about 10 years and somewhat over 50K miles.  Wet or dry clutch?  Any problems with the clutch?  Dry clutch packs can last over 30K miles, wet much longer.  A buddy of mine has over 100k miles on his wet clutch and I have 67+K on mine.  If you want, check stack height and basket/tang wear.

I can feel a freeplay on rear wheel... so thats because I want to change bearings... Clutch is slipping when we are 2 on bike and I twist the throttle hard.. it is Wet clutch... and I although hear noise which is problably from clutch.. will see when I dismount right cover..

Howie

Gotcha...IMO, OEM on the clutch plates on your wet clutch.  Check your head bearings too.

mr.freezer

I don't under stand that about clutch plates...

Howie

Sorry, I think you should use the OEM plates, not the Barnetts.

mr.freezer

Ahh.. okay... and what about numbers of bearings??

Go here and plug in the information on your bike   http://www.ducati.com/services/maintenance/index.do    If you have a good source for bearings they should be able to have them cross reference the bearings by number, saving you some $.  They would need to see the bearing, the Ducati part number won't help them.

You have two in the front and four in the back.  The ones on the sprocket carrier rarely go bad.

Service the forks and shock too.

Regarding the bearings in the engine - they are fine. I've got nearly 40K Miles on my 900 and there's no signs of any issues like that.

40,000 Kms is kids stuff  ;D
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
