Turn signals died

Okey, after 3hrs ride after this problem was fixed >>http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=65383.0
my turn signals died. turn indicator flashes fast. Fortunately engine is starting for now. I am afraid that R\R somehow fries dashboard. What can it be?

checked fuses, they all seems fine
I am not pro in tech questions, but as any rider have some experience that I can share without claiming to absolute truth. Please use my advices responsibly.

Turn indicator flashes fast you say?   Are you saying that the turn signal warning light in the dash flashes fast but the turn signals themselves all do NOTHING?

Stock turn signals?

None of them work.
Green lamp on dashboard flashes twice as fast as usual.
Rizoma signals, had no problem with them for 6month

..seems to me that the resistors which apply load to... aw make the beast with two backs.. where's suzyj when you need her??

IMO the turn signal resistors which simulate load are cactus  :-\

....doesnt't explain why none of the signals flash at all though (they should be flashing 2x if that was the case)  [bang]

Me?  I'd refit the stock turn signals to see what occurs.

I dunno how much help I can be. I have no personal experience with new monsters.

That said, I'm guessing that the resistor you talk about in the other thread might have been for current sense in the gauge blinker circuit. It's conceivable that a short in your wiring could damage that.

If your tech replaced it with a different value, then next time the short happens the driver chip could let the magic smoke out. So if that happens, no current goes to the blinkers, the processor believes a bulb is blown, and it tries to flash at double rate...

Like I said though, I'm guessing.

My course of action would be to remove the blinkers and any ballast resistors, and use a voltmeter to see if you get any volts when the blinkers are on. Also take a photo of this resistor you were referring to in the other thread so we can all oooh and aaah.

Dropped bike to electrician guy ti get it tested.
Last time in last thread there was no voltage coming to turn signals. And he replaced resistor with similar one as it hard to get exact one that needed. And he is confused why turn sigs are stopped working after some period of time, as it should stop working immediately if part was incorrect. He will replace that resistor and check if it will burn again and if so he will start looking for short circuit. I can't understand why starter is still works if resistor on dashboard died same way like it was last time.
I am afraid pictures of opened dashboard won't show you anything as resistors are too small on it. And actually I don't have camera, no camera at cell phone either, lol.

Indicators stopping after a little time is a clue that you're trying to draw too much current out of the chip that drives them.

Stopintime had a similar problem, when he put 23W globes in. It'd flash for a little while, then stop. What's happening is that the driver circuit is doing it's thing, but overheats and shuts down to protect itself.

What value are the resistors you added along with your LED blinkers?

No, I didn't. We were afraid I'd might, but nothing bad has happened even though I'm probably stretching things with those bulbs. Of course, it might very well be a problem on Kokis' bike.

Ok, not sure if this thread will be any informative for others. As guy that fixed bike told me that his manager did not told me all true about what work has been done, and there were 3 resistors on dashboard replaced that why starting circuit is working when turn signals died. Which make sense as previous time turn signals died after starter circuit.
He replaced turns signals resistor on dashboard again with the same lower power rate resistor.
Any way I have my rizoma turn signals(2 resistor blocks on each signal) which should consume less power that stock turn lights. The guy managed to do some short circuit test which resulted negative. So if turn signals will die again I will have to check for some accidental short circuits and any way re-make all turn signals wiring as they were not soldered and there are a lot of oxidation on these wire connection clips(as a lot of water gets under the seat).

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN UNEXPERIENCED ELECTRICIAN DOES YOUR WIRING.
