S4r neutral lights goes on and off,won't start if lights are off

Need help, my 2004 s4r's neutral light goes on and off. Will start if lights are on, won't start if off. Something's loose ,can't find it. Tried tracing the wires. TIA

you said you've traced wires, i presume you've checked the sensor?  I've had mine get loose and give intermittent signals like you're experiencing.

May not look exactly the same, but will be in the same general location...

check the wires at the neutral switch , you could also have a dicky neutral switch

check your clutch switch also , as should be able to start it with clutch pulled in
