Since there seems to be no current solution to the tuning problem with the new S2R's aside from buying the DP ECU, I'm thinking about getting the marving mid pipe from monsterparts so I can at least eliminate the converter for now.  Has anyone on here installed this piece on an S2R 1000?  How was the install/fit/finish?  Was the O2 sensor wire long enough to reach the bung in the new pipe or would an extension be necessary?

Thanks in advance,
Glenn

I have this mid-pipe on my '06 S2R1K.  Fit and finish are excellent, install is a breeze.  Mates up perfectly with the factory S-pipes.  Not sure on the O2 sensor wire though - I ditched that a while back. I "think" the pigtail will be long enough, maybe with some shifting of the harness up by the frame tubes.

So adding only the Marving pipe will not require an ECU change from stock? It doesn't specify on the monsterparts website.

From what I understand, just changing the mid pipe (not the cans or airbox) will not cause a dramatic change in the overall flow of the system and not require a tune.  Until there is an aftermarket tuner available (PCIII,Rapidbike) for the new s2r 1k's that I KNOW will work, I'll have to settle for the stock exhaust.  I believe the DP ECU will solve this problem but at a rather high price.
