So my buddy laid down my Monster going about 45. For the most part, the bikes still fine. Among a few other things, the speedo is now resting at a funny position. I know the needle moves just fine, because when I put the key to the On position, it does the full sweep as it should, except it goes from where it is now to about the 8 or 9 mark. I can't ride the bike yet, so Idk if the speedo will actual tell me my speed. I just know it can move on its own.

[/URL

I've taken the entire gauge pod apart and exposed the pcb, but didn't see an obvious way to set the needle back to 0. Anyone know how to do this?

Also, replacing the stock bars with Renthal Clipons. That top triple is a huge PITA to get off. Still working on it... so if anyone has some tips or tricks for that one, I'm all ears. Should have went with clipons that have a hinge so I wouldn't have to remove the triple at all...

EDIT: 2005 Monster 620ie.

that's the tachometer . . . did you loosen the screw holding the center nut? did you loosen all 4 screws? if not coming out easily and you still have the steering bar attached, use it to pull, a little lub would help

regarding the gauges, some dashboards you were able to take apart and "repair" some don't . . . take a pic from the back

It will also be a good idea to go the INTRODUCE YOURSELF Thread and tell a little about yourself . . .

For some reason doesn't look like mine . . . but, if there's a tiny tiny screw, you might be able to take that board off and get to the gauges and very carefully you will be able to lift off the tach needle and position it, where it should be, if  you don't have that screw, well, you guess it, new dash is a PITA since it's all with the IMMO; now, if you want a "generic" gauge set, just, re-flash your ECU and get any set of gauges you like

Found a little bravery and figured it out.
I just pulled the rubber gasket(?) off from around the edge and this let me take the black face off that holds the clear plastic lens. This exposed the needles. I pulled the needle off the pin, lined it up where it should be, and pushed the needle back onto the little metal rod. Tada.

Put everything back in carefully, and I've got a perfectly working gauge cluster again.

Hope this post helps someone else in the future.
