S4Rs In Michigan

« Reply #30 on: April 19, 2014, 12:39:16 AM »

I am on the road as soon as the snow is off, (you have bigger cojones than I), and I have to rinse off the bike to remove the salt even  after a slightly wet ride. Last winter I threw the bike in the truck for Arkansas to visit my uncle and look for twistys.  On the way back we ran into snow all through IL and spent that night in Chicago.  Just one night and I can still find a few pits on the forks and other alumi parts.  I can't imagine you give it a rinse at the end of every work day.   How do you deal with the salt or are your roads salt free?

No fair! My monster won't even start if it's below 40°.

You sir are absolutely insane. I live in Wisconsin so I'm well aware of what winter driving is all about. Plus my Monster refuses to start if it is 45 or below. She's a finicky pregnant dog!
