m1100 without gauges?

If you flash the ecu to remove the immobilizer will they run with the stock dash removed?  I know they send data back to the ECU but I cant find any info on what exactly that data is so that I can figure out if its necessary or a workaround an be built.

alternatively, anyone have a nice spot to hide the stock unit so that you can piggyback other gauges off of it?

I run without the oil pressure gauge and instead use a manual unit.  I can show pics if interested.  You can run the digital head unit under the seat where the tool tray is facing up.  just mod the tool tray and there is room, but protect the wiring from residue on the backside.
