30mm offset lower triple (IMA) with 25mm upper (Cycle Cat) bad/impossible idea?

This may be a dumb question to begin so I apologize if that's so; but what effect would that have on the geometry of the bike, and is it even possible?

Cheers.

Some bikes do have different offset between the upper and lower triples, but they're bored at an angle such that the forks will slide through.

IIRC, some early Triumphs were done that way.
Recently, the V-Rods were done that way, to make it *look* like a chopper rake, but not actually be that way.

You, sir, are a glutton for punishment.  I had trees like that on my 96 FXSTC.  I would think this would only be possible with an eccentric steering head tube.  It seems like the fork angle may be too steep as stated.

I wonder if the CC can be modified by a machinist to match the 30mm offset of the lower. Seems like there is enough meat on it. I swapped in the IMA's, went to a taller front tire/wider rear, and raised the rear end at the same time last year and it was a dramatic improvement in handling, specifically my ability to lean the bike over but I have no idea which of those mods is most responsible.

Considering how badly I've seen Brad roast people for asking questions way less stupid than this one, I consider myself quite lucky.  ;)

i don't think i'm that bad.

i know people who have done it on race bikes due to trying stuff on the cheap.
