I've split the case on my 95' M900 with 80,000 kilometres on the clock.

I have a few questions for the brains trust  ;)

Do I need to replace this bearing? It's covered in white dots!

This is from the alternator outta side of the case of the central cam shaft. What could have caused the cog to rub?

This is on the inner side of the case, it looks like it may have been a one off strike but again why? What can I do to avoid it napping again?

My greatest fear in life is that when I die my better half will sell my Ducati's and tools for the price I told her I paid for them!

Are you splitting the cases due to a problem?
Me personally, if you're going that far I would want fresh bearings.
Can you remove a white dot to have it examined? Do they come off with parts cleaner on a rag or are they welded on?
The mark on the bearing race doesnt seem to extend to any of the case protusions below it on one side, but does on the other. Is that correct?  (Im using a phone).
Having the motor rebuilt and shimmed up correctly  to best spec is the best insurance. Who's doing the rebuild? You got a pro helping out who can check it all on reassembly?

Hopefully the motor builders will chime in.
