Hello everyone,

I am a swapping the fuel tank on my S4 for a NOS one. The fuel filler is giving me a problem and I would be grateful for some advice. I took the cap assembly off and removed the tiny grub screws holding the grey metal plate on. But I don't see how to remove the plate. Looking at the new tank, I see a recess and I guess I have a rubber seal in the old tank...the plate does move just a little if I pull on it.

What is the best way to remove the plate that holds the cap please?    And while I am asking.... is there anything else I should know about swapping the tank? It looked quite simple at first.

Thanks in advance, Andrew

Insert a hammer handle into the filler and use it like a lever. They can be stubborn, so be prepared to give it a swat with your hand.

keep your other hand under the head of the hammer to avoid any damage.

Grease the o-ring on reassembly and push, or tap the cap holder into place.

Getting your arm into the tank to remove the pump can be 'interesting' sometimes, but it is actually straight forward. The pump comes out of it's clip straight up to the top and then to the opening. Again, a little lube on the rubber holder for the pump makes reassembly easier
