I was trawling eBay for a set of 5-spoke rims for my 2002 M750 and getting frustrated at how cheap and plentiful 749/999 take-off rims are when I stumbled on this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ducati-SC-Wheel-Spacer-Kit-999-749-Marchesini-Wheels-on-Sport-Classic-/321825724986

It says "(Might also be used for Ducati Monster)".  Does anyone here have any experience pro or con with this set or something like it?  Thanks!

* also found these, at considerably higher cost: http://www.performanceparts.de/en/DUCATI/SPORTCLASSIC/Set-of-distance-bushes-for-utilization-of-999-wheels.html

You would need to source the 749/999 brake rotors.
The rear is a 5-bolt, and different diameter, so not sure what you would use for a caliper bracket after the wheel was fitted.
The fronts are 5-bolt as well, and be aware there's different offsets amongst the 5-bolt rotors.

Rear wheels from an S4 or ST4S will be 5-spoke, and bolt straight up.
You would need to get the sprocket carrier too, as the rim's wider than what you have now.
And you'd have to swap your front sprocket to flat side out.

Do you have a steel swingarm or aluminum?
Additional complications for steel....

Front wheel, 5-spoke 6-bolt 25mm axle will bolt right in; S4 and ST4S, as well as S2r, S4R, 996.
Perhaps 1000SS as well.

Thanks, Speeddog, that's great info.  It's frustrating that the 999 rims are so much cheaper (and easier to find) than the 5-spoke rims but I guess after all the other parts needed it will end up costing more.

I found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/301709120207?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

It looks like it's pretty much all the bits that you mentioned in a single kit.  $1600 seems pretty close to what a set of aftermarket rims would cost, though, and a set of the 5-spoke rims should be around $750-800.  I just need to be patient, I guess, until I find a set in Senna red.

Again, thanks for the info.  [thumbsup]

It appears that there were some in Senna Red, but I'd say grab the first good ones you see, and paint if necessary.
