How do I power up the dashboard?

I picked up several boxes of Multistrada DS parts that included a motor I have no idea of the mileage but it looks pretty clean.  In one of the boxes I have found the tachometer so hoping that may tell me the mileage!  I have an S2R wiring loom I was able to plug into the tacho, connected a battery & an ignition but nothing. Is there another sensor or something I need to connect to power up the dash?

Any suggestions welcome.

I think you need the ECU plugged in as well, and the keyswitch antenna.

BUT.....

I would hesitate to do that with Multistrada parts and an S2R harness, lest the magic smoke escape.
It *may* be OK, but I'd get advice from someone who's done it.
