2009 M696 stator replacement

My 696 needs a new stator.  The dealer is quoting @ $650 for an OEM part. 
He has suggested an alternative after market part form some place in San Diego
for only $150.  Does anyone have experience with this part?  Or suggestions.

Used a ricks motorsport on my 620. So far, so good. My husband has a V2 Aprilia and they are notorious for killing stators. The general consensus with the Aprilia guys is to use ricks.
