Hello Experts,

I've got an 06 S2R1000 and would really like to replace the stock gauges to Motogadget Motoscope Pro. After reading on this and other forums, I gathered that the ECU has to be either flashed, to disable the immobilizer, or replaced all together with a 3rd party ECU. So my questions are:

1. After the stock ECU is flashed and immobilizer is disabled can I remove the stock dash, will the bike run?
2. If it will not run, any way to bypass the circuitry in the dash? I saw someone working on a solution for Sport Classic
3. I would probably have to use my own speed sensor, but what about tapping in to Tach signal, oil pressure? Don't think high beam and Neuteral and turn signals should be big deal, but any insight would be helpful.

Thank you in advance!

1. Yes
2. You can, in a sense, this is what disabling the immobilizer is actually doing.I believe DuckStew was the one that famously relocated all his circuitry on a monster build and piggybacked it all to run a custom gauge.  It looked like a total nightmare.
3. I never cared about my oil pressure sensor. on our bikes, by the time that light goes off  the engine is pretty much toast anyway. GPS speedometers are becoming common enough that the price is getting really low.  Tach reading can be pulled a few different ways. If you can get all that together, idiot lights (high, turn, neutral) will be super easy.

just be aware that your turn signal flasher is in your gauges, so you will need to address that with a standalone flasher and some (more) custom wiring.
