Speedometer not working

Hello all,
I just replaced the speedo sensor on my 05 Monster S4R and the speedometer is still not working. The needle does work as well as the Tachometer, however the speed and mileage are non responsive. Any ideas on what else I could do to fix this?

You've got some aftermarket wave rotor on there, yes?

Does it have the trigger pegs like this OEM rotor (there's 4 pegs, last one is hidden behind the stubaxle)?

I believe so, I'll have to double check and get back to you. If it does have them, if they are gunked up could that cause the speedometer to not be reading?

Gunk is not an issue.
