Hey folks,

Quick post here: I, like many of you, found the rear tank bolt on my 2012 1100 EVO to be stripped out in the tank. Ugh. To fix, I simply:

- Cut the head of the bolt off by cutting an "X" into the head with my angle grinder. Then I used pliers to bend each "ear" until it broke off.

- Removed the tank.

- Measured the position of the bolt on the bottom of the tank flange with calipers (mine was 29mm from each side)

- Transferred those measurements to the top of the tank flange and marked the spot.

- Drilled a 3/8" hole on the mark through to the nut.

- Used a C-clamp to push the exposed nut up through the hole I'd cut.

- Scrounged up a low-profile bolt and nut.

- Installed the bolt down through the new hole, and through the lower bracket. Then popped the nut on it from the bottom (TWSS).

Ta-daaa! All done. Probably took about an hour, all told.

Hope this helps someone.
