Monster 1100 Left Side Exhaust Hotter?

Hi,

I've finally made it to the UK to fetch my 'new' 2010 Monster 1100. Been doing a lot of mods to it already, and went out for a ride. Tall gearing is definitely noticeable, though I've got a 43 rear to stick on to sort that. Anyway, great bike. However, I've noticed that the header gets hot almost immediately after start up. Is this normal?

Also, the left exhaust emits sigificantly more heat and vapour than the right. Is this due to the angle of the pipe leading into the two, or could it be something else? Just checking if this is normal. It has Termis.
