98 monster regulator wiring

Good evening all. I have to replace the regulator but the problem is the regulator on my bike is off something else and has been wired in using bullet connectors and the new one comes with the proper white block plastic connectors. My question is does it matter what what way round the two live and two earth wires coming from the regulator conect back into the loom. Many thanks. Clive

Have wired the new regulator in and it doesn't matter what way round the 2 live and 2 earth connect back to the loom
