Hey guys, I am looking for a puck or something to put under my side stand for parking in grass or soft surfaces. I found a few places that sell them but they are all overseas I dont want to pay $10 shipping on an $8 part.

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Aerostitch sells some fancy ones, and I'd bet your local shop has some too.  TOB had some made with the meatball logo, shouldn't be that hard an item to find
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

I cut one out of 1by redwood trim I had laying around. Basically a 3-3.5in circle, approx .625 thick. Fits easily in the jacket pocket, Soft enough to allow the stand to "bite" a little, hard enough to hold up to the pressure... I just didn't like the idea of the sharper edges of a soda/beer can, tho in hindsight i guess i could have peened them over with a hammer.

I'm not totally useless, I can be used as a bad example!

I use the side-stand plate I got when I was a Ti member of the DML.  Works great, so while you are at the hardware store looking for some good materials, consider a high-grade plastic or some PVC or something.

The crushed soda can is probably your best bet if you are at all forgetful.  Or you can tie a string to whatever you use for a plate, and attach the other end to the handlebars.

Use a lid off a pickle jar or peanut butter (or jelly)...

However, I USE a CF one that is the Ducati logo...  8)

+1

And you can buy a few, so if are forgetful it's not a big deal.

I keep one in my jacket pocket and a few waiting in reserve in the garage next to where I park the bike.

Jeff @ monsterparts.com sent me one for free with an order I placed a while ago.  Get some accessories for your bike from him and get one free... everyone's happy.
Turn it off man, turn it off!  It's sucking my will to live!
