Hi guys,

Last night I caught two little s**ts trying to steal it (unbelievable, it's only been a few days and it was 10 o'clock at night)!

I'm convinced they managed to start it because it was the sound of the termi's that made me check, but in the heat of the moment I could be wrong. My question is, has anyone come across someone being able to get round the immobiliser without a key?

Also, looks like they used a screwdriver to break the steering lock and now the pin won't move back in to position and part of the casing seems to be cracked. The ignition still works fine and it starts fine - does anyone know if this is repairable without getting a whole new ignition etc?

Many thanks!

not possible.

I think A LOT Of people have tried over the years.

The pin goes into a portion of the triple on most of the monsters. The ignition switch is mounted to a portion of the frame so its not something that is very easily repairable.

I had the same thing happened to an XT250, they were rolling the bike down the street when I caught them and chased after them.

Just thinking about it makes me wish I had shoes on because I would of beat the crap out of them.

But to give you an idea on how some bikes are mounted check out this video I made. I had to cut the ignition out.

I may have a switch with key.

I'll look this weekend.
