Right then I'm almost an old codger, been riding on and off since 1973 when I had a harley 350, which was really a rebranded aermacchi. Later ended up with a BMW LS650, let my license lapse so had to start on a beginners bike again to get my license, so now I have a GS500, we also bought a Suzuki  LS650 strangely enough. I quite like the GS but I'm feeling like I gotta have something more fun to ride and I'm looking at spending about 7 grand $AUD on a monster. The more I think about it the more I think I'd like one.

The S40 and the GS are both 30 year old tech and consequently easy to work on. So I've just joined here and I hope to get a feel for what owning a monster will be like. I'm not familiar with all the different models. So I'll be lurking around for a while and prolly asking some questions about different models that may appear a bit dumb or obvious, but are not obvious to me yet. Basically I don't want to have to spend a lot of money needing to maintain it.

That's all for now.

EDIT: oh year, I'm in Queensland, Australia.
