I'm sure there must be a thread on this somewhere but I couldnt find it. I've had woodcraft clipons for about 6 years and I'm now needing my 3rd set of replacement bars due to the anodizing fading of the woodcraft bars. Has anyone had a noticably better experience with other universal fit 7/8 replacement bars?

Driven seems to be proud of their anodizing and they cost about $4 more per bar than the Woodcraft but can anyone attest to the quality (durability) of the anodizing?

Go back a page and look down. You already have a thread on this posted 8/12.

Yeah didnt get much of a response to that one. So I tried again with different wording. The truth is it does seem like the responsiveness on this forum has gone down compared to when I first joined about 5 years ago. Maybe it's cause some key contributors have moved on. Dont get me wrong I'm not complaining this forum has given me so much information and has been a life saver. IMO it's the benchmark which the other Ducati forums dont ever come close to. It just seems like I used to get a ton of responses for almost any question and now it's diminished to some extent. Either way it's still my favorite forum by far.

Is there anything you can do to the spare bars?. You know they fit so you can shop around to find a place that will give the finish you desire. Interesting to see what your coating/treatment options are.

I was thinking about PC'ing them as I'm about to get a PC job done but I've also seen where the PC coating makes it difficult to mount the grips. A buddy mine got his Rizoma grips half way on then completely stuck due to the extra diameter added by the PC. I think I'm just going to go with the woodcraft replacement bars and know that I'll be swapping bars again in 2-3 years. I'm surprised there's not a UV blocking clear-coat that can at least minimize this effect. Assuming it's the UV Rays that cause this,  but I dont know enough to address this topic intelligently but that's never stopped me before  Grin

I dont much about this stuff either. Grin Our harsh sun can turns reds pink and blacks purple in one Summer and it makes me just want to use paint.
Iirc, there was a thread were UV resistant anodizing was discussed and the subject of different grades of anodizing in relation to colour and hardness came up. Worth a search.
I'm not young enough to run alloy grips. Talk about suffering for your art! My M900 came with fancy gold Rizoma grips, but they're in a box now where they belong. laughingdp

Don't PC the bars.

You can get yours stripped and Hard black anodized, then they won't fade.
