I'd like to run lighter wheels, and the V-Tracks from Carrozzeria seem legit. Problem is the width of the rear, at 6". That's too wide for the Monster. So if it's not supposed to fit why have I previously seen photos of S*Rs with them mounted, and why are they marketed for the Monster at 6" instead of 5.5" for the rear?

The forged Marchis are too expensive or I'd buy those. I like the sub $2k price on the Carrozzerias.

It depends as much on what tire you run, as well as rim width, as to whether it will fit.

What tire do you run?

I will be running the size that the bike was designed for. Whatever's in the owner's book. I'm just trying to get some more better handling out of this bike and getting lighter wheels is almost the best way to go about it. Already had the suspension set up by Donnie at the Duc Pond and it helped just not enough. Raised the rear a little but don't want to overdo it.

Both the rim and tire will be very close to the swingarm and chain - if not too close. 6.0 rim requires 190-200 tire width which will also raise the rear, but that can be adjusted at the adjusting rod.

Do you know if they include a wheel spacer?

I believe the stock tire is a 180/55. That isn't the best choice for a 6" rim.

Like Lars says, you'd need to go to a 190. Depending on brand a 190/60 might not be all that much wider than some 180/55's.

Yeah I’m not going round & round with this. If the wheel don’t come in a 5.5 I’m buying the forged Marchis or some other brand that does. Anyone know how much lighter the forged Marchesinis are than the stock cast? As in can I expect the results I seek by upgrading to them. I believe the claim on the Carrozzerias is like 20-30% lighter and in my mind that’s dramatic. It would be optimal if the forged Marchis were a similar weight. Street bike, so not buying carbon.

A ballpark number would be around 10lbs between cast and forged. I’m sure someone has exact numbers.

It's a little incomplete, but will give you an idea.

Motowheels lists the weight of the forged Marchesini set with a 5.5" rear as 9.9 kg.

Weird. Even BST doesn't offer 5.5" rears. Everything only seems to be available in 6". I know for a fact BST carbons, at least the 5-spoke variety will fit an S*R because Heath has them on his bike which is nearly identical to mine. Or at least at one time he had them on his bike which he bought from Taftonomos.

9.9kg=22lbs=not much of an improvement over stock from what I understand. Does a SSS rear weigh more than a DSS? Something has to be incorrect with MW's weight on those. I've had the OE cast rear off this S4RT and it felt like a feather compared to what I remember the 5 spoke rear from the S2R that I used to own weighed.

Way down at the bottom of the S2R Carrozzeria wheel page at Core Moto it says "offered in 5.5 & 6" so I guess I should be good to go with those. I'll have to follow up with them on it.

Does anyone think their Ti grey wheels on an S4RT would look wrong somehow? The wine red? Otherwise they are gonna be black which seems like a missed opportunity to do something a little different given how many color options are offered. I would like to stay tasteful though.

I think red would be a good choice. I assume the tank decals are red also. It would be a good way of extending that accent.
