The front rotors on my 2000 M900Sie are marked with "MIN. TH. 3.6MM", so when I measured them at 3.55mm I figured I should look into replacement options.  Looking around online I see some at MotoWheels that are 5.5mm thick, but that seems much thicker than the unworn edges of my original rotors, which are 4.05mm thick where buttons connect them to the carrier and at the outermost edge.  Did Ducati use rotors of different thickness?  Is a 5.5mm rotor suitable for my bike?  Any particular recommendations?

Here's my original rotor:

With 5.5mm rotors you must confirm there is adequate thickness available for the pads.
There's rules for race legal Supersport class hardware that allows dimensions that can result in dragging when you go mix-n-matching with road stuff.

Cool, thanks for the info, guys.  Being in Canada, I'll check with OPP and will also call my local dealer to see what they have.

Still, the 5mm rotors in the pictures show a minimum thickness of 4.6mm, while my originals of 4mm show a minimum thickness of 3.6mm.  I wonder when they changed that.  In any event, I'll order some soon.

Your OEM are indeed 4.6mm.  Those 5 mm. are for the Superbike, and are a great upgrade, aluminum carrier and a little thicker, but not enough to run into drag problems.  Also a great bargain.
