Folks,
My tail light bulb has blown again so I thought I might go down the LED path. I've seen a few nifty looking ones out there but also heard some mixed reports. Does anyone have any first hand experience in replacing the tail light board with an LED strip?

Also, I know there are some that integrate the indicators into them. I believe they may not be legal on Australian bikes as the legislation specifies that indicators have to be a certain distance apart. Can anyone confirm or debunk this?

Lastly, are there any local distributors of these units?

Thanks guys
Palooka

I got the Clear Alternatives LED tail light last year and haven't had any problems (he says touching his head) - have had a few comments regarding its relative brightness. The CA one comes with the clear lens and it is a simple plug and play replacement - Jukie did the install for me in no time.

I don't know for sure about the integrated indicators but I think there was a bit of discussion on TOB where I think people had the same concerns as you.

Mine came from the US with a bunch of other bits and pieces we were getting - don't know about local sources, sorry.

I thought there was still some regulation regarding the distamce between the indicators, with the Integrated types being veeery close together.Huh??? Huh?

I've tried the LED globe types (Plug into the standard globe socket) and they have failed fairly quickly. Dunno 'bout the full light board sort?? Undecided
