I've just picked up two Aprilia Caponord ETV 1000's (2001 and 2002) ;D

I believe the engine is the same Rotax engine used in the RSV 1000 Mille, only detuned!

Would anyone know if the detuning was done to the actual motor, if so how, or was simply f done via the ECU?

Thanks in advance for any information  [thumbsup]

Sorry, I don't remember the specifics.  I *think* it was tuning...but I'm probably wrong.  Give the brain trust at AF1 a ring.

The camshafts have less lift and duration.  The valves are the same size as the RST Futura, Falco SL and gen 1 RSV.  Not sure if the ports were smaller.

They have the Sagem ECU like the RST Futura, which can be a little odd to deal with.

My Capo is the shortlived 1200, but I'll subscribe to this for info... they seem to have typical Italian issues.   [drink]
