Alvaro Bautista brought back the World Superbike Championship to Ducati. The last World Superbike Championship occurred in 2011. Carlos Checa was the rider and in 2022 it took another Spaniard to wrestle the Superbike  championship back from the Japanese ,mainly Kawasaki and Jonathan Rea. Not only did Ducati win the Rider Championship but they won the Constructors Championship and the Team Championship. The Constructors championship includes all the riders on a Ducati.  The Team Championship only considers Bautista and Michael Rinaldi both Aruba IT Ducati which is the official Ducati Team.  Axel Bassani also on a Ducati V4R was the top non FACTORY RIDER and  his Motocorsa team won the non factory championship.  With the MotoGP being won by Bagnaia, and Ducati winning Constructor and Team championship it has been a great year for the Bologna Bullets. The Pramac team also won the Non factory championship in MotoGP.  Ducatis  Danilo Petrucci finished a very close second in the US Road America championship losing by a handful of points.  Petrucci had never ridden on any of the US tracks except for The Circuit of the Americas in Aurin.
