All,

Since Em is still injured from her fall at Cornerspeed, I'm asking for moving help next Saturday July 26th. The move will start at approximately 8am and go until completed. We don't have that much stuff so I don't anticipate this being a major undertaking. I intend to have as much stuff packed and disassembled as possible so all you guys have to do is help us move. Believe me I know how frustrating it is to show up at a house and find stuff not packed and furniture still assembled.

The move will start here at our place in Alexandria/Springfield and end a little over 5 miles away at our new place in Lorton. If time permits, we'll also be emptying the small storage unit in Lorton. It's mostly boxes and loose stuff so it's not going to be a big deal either.

As of now we have my truck plus my enclosed trailer. I also have an open 5x10 trailer that someone else can tow if you have a 2" ball on your vehicle.

If you're interested in helping please send me an email letting me know what you intend on contributing (i.e yourself + vehicle, etc), what type of drinks you prefer, and what you like on your pizza. I'll reply with the exact address of both properties.

Thanks in advance!

Obviously I echo Stillie's comments.  Gene battled normal Friday traffic PLUS a FFX County Parkway closing to get to us to move the bikes while I closed on the property.  Henry arrived bright and early on Saturday and claimed back injury, but still was able to lift WAY more than I could, even if I were whole and healthy.  Endless thanks to you both!!!

Two others in addition to Gene and Henry gave their time.  First was Jon, from the MAD list.  He assisted us with his manual labor, nearly tireless lifting ability, and his patience.  We had some unexpected help, too.  A guy who posts on Cycle Forum not only drove up from almost all the way to Richmond, but he also stayed to the bitter end to get the things that I thought would be left until Sunday.  When we asked him where he wanted dinner, he pointed us to the fine dining establishment known as Five Guys.  So, we treated him to his meal of a burger and fries.  Can't go wrong with a DC classic.

We couldn't have done it without everyone who chipped in.  It would have been a horrendous move with just us, but with each person giving a few hours of their time, we got it all done in one weekend.

Thanks also to Karen, for the use of her steam cleaner and her ideas for remodeling.  Oh, another addiction begins!
