it's always fun to watch the road courses and see them get confused at the first right.

other than that, motogp and WRC for me

Usually I have some sort of reaction when someone has a blanket statement like, A is Awesome, and B sucks.
Just because you think A is great, doesn't make B crap.  Saying that stock car racing takes no talent is rude and kinda trolling.
+1!

Stock car racing is just a different style of racing.  First of all it's decidedly American even though Toyota is now racing.  Who's to say what happens with how American it is in upcoming years.
And the point that so many people seem to ignore (except for a couple) is that the cars are virtually the same.  There are only minor adjustments you can make to the cars, and those have their own tolerances.  There are some series where certain makes, like Ferrari, are always going to be close to the top because of technical superiority.  The story behind the Mclaren/Ferrari scandal shows that the technological difference between one team and another more or less MAKE the race.
NASCAR is about who runs the best line again and again....   and again.  I'll admit that the race can be boring, but saying there's no talent or skill?
To me that is more about real racing from a driver's perspective than who arrives at the track with the best machine.

Some of the races are exciting as hell, while others are like watching paint dry.  But if someone were watching MotoGP for the first time this year, other than watching Stoner and Rossi go at it last week, it's been fairly boring.  Stoner wins by 5+ seconds.  Or Rossi wins.   Not any more passing than what happens in NASCAR.  Perhaps less.

Just because you think A is great, doesn't make B crap.  Saying that stock car racing takes no talent is rude and kinda trolling.

+11ty billion. If you don't like it, then you don't like it. Some of us love it. No need to bash it.

I still say it would be way more interesting if you had them drive around a golf course and the golfers can shoot at the cars while trying to evade the viscious badgers that live in the holes on the golf course.

hello folks,

not trying to offend anyone here. sorry but i didn't realize that my choice of words on the poll were still biased even if you voted yes. that would be an unfair poll...duh  [roll]

so...i've changed the wording of the poll to be more politically correct...

Nascar to me:

If you like it, fine.

One thing that really bothers me, is the carbon copy cars they use.  What happened to advancements/technology from the track showing up on the street?  It's now become racer replica jackets, # stickers for your back window, and ugly ass yellow letter tires.

I'll be glad when nascar becomes a dead fad and we get decent programming on tv other than 22 hrs a day of nascar news on speed. Seriously, how much can possibly be happening with one 3hr race a week that can fill 7 days of programming? I want my WRC, BTCC and LeMans back.

Yeah..

BUT -- if you are going to bad NASCAR for this weekend, you gotta remember a few years ago 14 of the 20 teams in F1 didn't even bother trying to race at Indy cause of tires.

(I wonder how the Moto GP bikes are going to hold up there?)

Yeah in 2005 20 cars came out for the parade lap, but only 6 raced.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

It's the only thing that always goes to the left in the South. Got to give it some credit.

Man sitting on couch says to wife:  "I can't decide whether to watch NASCAR on TV or watch the dust settle on the mantle."

Wife cautions:  "Oh, remember what the doctor said about your blood pressure.  You mustn't get too excited."

Man:  "You're right.  NASCAR it is."
