Quote
this to work.  If I only want to quote

the code is this without the spaces:

[ quote ]

whatever you want to quote from the previous post

[ /quote ]

If you only quote part of the statement it's good manners to add a <snip> to indicate the fact the statement was edited.
"Once you accept that a child on the autistic spectrum experiences the world in
a completely different way than you, you will be open to understand how that
 perspective

Its very simple hon. Type:

[ quote ]

then copy and paste whatever you want (include the <snip> like dp said)

then type [ /quote ] after whatever you copied and pasted. take out the spaces that i inserted between "quote" and the brackets [ ]

Ok here we go again,

Quotethe code is this without the spaces:<snip>

Looks like I almost got it.  Do I type the other persons name instead of snip?  Sorry first ever forum I've been on.

I use the "Reply with quote" button, and then edit as necessary.

We have a winner!  [thumbsup]

Or, you can hit reply, then go down to whatever post you want to quote (listed below the reply box) and click on 'Insert Quote', then edit with the 'snip'.

Either way works metallimonster. If you don't care about having the persons name at the top of the quote, then you can just use my method. If you do want it in there, use the other.

But if you wanna be a winner, use the second method.

Or you can even get creative.
