Back from St. Marten - With pictures

Well I just got back from a week of Vacation.

Well needed as I have been very busy leading up to vacation.

Remember the lady in the pink shirt? She was there for a reason and it will come out again on this trip.

We took off at the hour of 6:00 AM on the August 16th. Not a bad flight with a layover in Atlanta.

We arrived very tired so we did nothing but go to the pool.

The next few days had a lot of pool and beach with it.

We went to a beach that a nude beach was 100 or so yards away. Now nude beaches sound like a good idea until you see one. Top 10 models do not go regularly. People that should be clothed were there. It was pretty bad actually. I only saw one set of Boobies that my wife actually pointed out to me.

Driving on the island was interesting. If you were going slow you were getting passed. Lane splitting? a common occurence. I got passed by scooters, Harleys, enduros and quads the whole time. Scooter drivers on the island were the ultimate Hoolignas on the island. There were even some nakid scooters and one I saw with a slick looking exhaust!

Gear = Flip flop and sunglasses.

I was amazed to say the least.

We went to a place called Cheri's which was cool. It had a live band with high audience participation. They had a part a contest they called it. They picked people out of the audience and made them dress in drag. Do a dance, strut like on a runway. Well guess who got picked? Yup thats correct me!They had another cool part where they asked how long people were married. there was one newlywed. I sent them a mystery Pay it Forward drink on me. It was nice to see them look around to see where it came from. They toasted and went on with there night. (I would imagine this is in the spirit of Bobspapa thread.)

We spent a day on Front street and back street. This is very close to where the cruise ships come in. If you are looking for gold, jewelry or a watch this is where you want to buy it! The prices were so sweet and needless to say I am now wearing a Movado on my wrist. The gov't also received a blue diamond ring as a suprise.

Also on front street was an art studio of one of the creators of YODA. Nice guy especially if you are into Star Wars.

Ran into a guy with a sweet 1974 Benelli 125cc bike. We talked bike for a while and then he had to get back to work.

On the second to the last day I was sitting at the pool. I was watching a young boy about 4 years old. I closed my eyes and was enjoying the sun. Something told me to open my eyes. I looked to my disbelief and saw the boy face down with his arms out to his side. He looked as if he was dead. I just about got the ipod off my head. As I jumped in I heard a women scream. My feet hit the ground and yanked out the young boy. As I lifted him he gasped to my excitement. A crowd gathered and the parents came running over. They weren't even watching him. I truly think that lady in the pink shirt was there for a reason. She not only kept me here but put me there so I could help this young boy. Right place at the right time.

the rest of the vacation was a blast and went by too fast.

Cuban cigars by the ocean was very nice. 

I didn't see one ducati on the island though I am not suprised.

Does this remind anyone else of Boobies? Sorry it made me laugh everytime we passed this sign and made me think of the DMF!

It was funny but a lot of things we did made me think of here.

Heheh, I've been to SXM a few times, and if memory serves me right, there were LOTS of bewbies to be on the lookout for   

Those pics bring back nice memories, I'm way over due for a trip there.  Now that I live in SoCal though it's less incentive than when I was in the midwest   

And good on ya for saving the child's life!  I'm sure you just "did what had to be done" but hey man, you really saved his life.  Karma in the bank!! hehe

It basically comes down to the right place at the right time.

As for the ring. We were in one of the gold stores looking at watches for me.  They didn't have what I liked so the Gov't was looking at these blue diamonds. I had never seen one before so was curious. So the salesman kept showing her rings. They are pretty pushy. She had this one on her hand which was amazing! I could really tell that she wanted it. So the salesman came down. She said no thanks I am just looking. They went back and forth. I said well what can you do bottom line. He gave a price. Now I told the Gov't that I was going to play with the salesman a little to see what we could do for prices. She had no idea it was going home with her. The salesman told her to go outside and look at the ring in the sun to see how beautiful it was. She left I said what is the bottom line. The price came. She came back and said thanks for showing it to me. As she said this I through the money on the counter.

She was suprised to say the least!

She then turned to me and said lets go buy your watch!  You can have whatever you want.
