Madalf - you reading this mate? - you reckon Manta Enterprises could help? You want to ring and have a chat with Peter?

Heather - where is the bike & wheel located?

and you backed up what the Eurobrit guy was saying that all the monsters except your year/model can use the rear wheel. technical term = bugger!

Madalf on the case.
Yes will speak to Manta, have some really good contacts.
Heather could you pm me with details of where I can view the wheel? And or some photos.
I'll need to see it before asking about repairs.
I'd reccomend following Brads suggestion as well.
Cheers

If that does'nt work, take to bob brown as Rob suggested, I know its a bit of a run around but it will save you heaps.

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......

actually Heather, Brad Black at Moto One may have a better plan - tyr Peter @ Manta first, but Moto One has a 5 spoke grey wheel that they could knock the bearings out of, wheel is $600 and probably be another $200 for bearings and work...

Hi Heather.
Had a look today after coffee with the boys.
No good news I'm afraid, it's a bit too far gone.
I will get a second opinion, but think it will be the same.
Full details in pm.
Cheers.
Madalf.

Spider

Mad - if you have the wheel - after Peter take it to Brad and that way they can put the old next to the new.

madalf71

Yes Sir Spider.
Don't have wheel, but have another lead maybe.
Currently under discussion.
Cheers.

Well 3 1/2 months later - I finally got my bike back today. What a drama it turned out to be.  Ended up getting the 5 spoke Marchesini wheel and gettting it painted.  Then the bearings were too skinny and  needed spacers made up.  yadda yadda yadda.

So happy today to go down to Melbourne and finally ride it home.  It's all tucked up in the shed getting reading for Turismo now.

Special kudos and thanks to Madalf, Spider and Brad for scrutineering, shopping, advice and chats.  I owe you fellas big time  [drink] [drink] [drink]

Next time I'll buy a more common bike.

Hoping to catch up at either Turismo or in Melb one day soon.

Also Spider if your reading this - like your "just got outta bed" look!!!! Not shabby at all.

Spider

your welcome Heather!

that 5 spoke is lighter/better too I bet! the 3 spoke Brembos are boat anchors apparently.

and thanks, it's hard to even look at myself in the mirror some mornings but after a concerted effort I can scrub up OK, I guess!  ;D

(I wonder in the girls of OzMonsters would be so successful finding good looking girls? yes, is the answer. Those pictures are of the world's highest paid male model and prettgy much no one knows who he is!)

Betty

Congrats Heather, enjoy the Tourismo.

Now see it wasn't that hard  [roll] didn't take long at all  [roll] [roll]. Time to forget about it and have a some fun  [moto]

what do you mean Brad? She rides a 1000s (so she must be dead-set sexy) and the new wheel was a grey 5 spoke from a place called Moto One in Oakleigh, perhaps you've heard of it?   ;)

The wheel was discovered by some, ah, brilliant bloke, if my memory serves me correct!

brad black

i didn't notice it was gone.
