got a speeding ticket this morning ....

why is it always the motorcycle cops that bust me?!  I think I hate my bike today.  It's evil ... begging me to give it more gas all the time.  What kind of twisted world do we live in where I have a machine capable of such glorious acceleration and I can't use it!   ugh, I need help.

btw, the ticket was for a whopping 42 mph.  yawn.  4 lane road with a 25 mph speed limit ... wtf!  do they know how hard it is to go 25 mph?!  I'm practically stalling at that speed!

sorry for my mindless rant.

at least obama's speech was hopeful.

This is exactly the reason I have only ridden a 500, 650, and 695. Motorcycles this size help to keep me from getting into trouble with the law.

I have a four lane straightaway on the way to work that is supposed to be a 35mph zone. If you actually go that slow you'll get run over, but that doesn't stop cops from hanging out on the end of the road at the end of the month to bust people.

Potrero Avenue near the hospital.  it's a popular cop hangout, but I usually spot them in time to check my speed.  Today I was just off my game.

I definitely deserve all the tickets I get (grumble) but it is silly for the speed limit to be 25 there.

I just sold my 620.   Shhhh, don't tell the moderators or they might kick me out for monster blasphemy.

I just need more track time.

Oh that sucks. I used to live at 23rd/Carolina, but I guess police presence must have increased in recent years.

BTW - Desmostro lives very close to there too.

To put it in perspective--think of the all the time and money you've saved by riding.  The ticket you get once in a while has probably been paid off several times over already.  I know people who habitually violate the carpool lane and they tell me that they get caught about twice a year, but it saves them hours and hundreds of dollars to use it.  It's either a net savings or a wash at worst.  Tickets are kind of the same way for motorcyclists.  I assume you're fighting it?  I generally make my ticketers earn every friggen cent of that ticket outta me.  Stalling, letter-writing, court-appearances...I do it all and it's worth it.  I have a clean record as of right now (knock on wood!) and I have been stopped a few times.  I've also gotten off with few verbal warnings--two of them on the bike--it's not true about women not getting tickets on motorcycles.   Grin
