Im thinking about ordering a cheap HID kit off ebay. I have 55 watt H3 bulbs. Im using custom projector housings, not a stock light bucket.

QUESTIONS

-Will 35w HID bulbs and ballast be much brighter than standard 55w bulb?

-How much more-less power output does an HID setup draw from the stator? Pretty sure its less after bulbs warm up.

-Do the HID bulbs run much hotter in temperature, not color temp, than 55w bulbs. I dont want to melt my housings.

Thanks people.

Also if there is a good tech article about HID would you throw it my way?

atleast 3x more light and 50%more coverage

35w uses 35watts

they run much hotter. my housing doesnt get hot, but the lens in front could easily burn my finger.

I have a dual bixenon HID kit on my monster. 2x 35watt 4300k and i can burn a hole into the atmosphere, though if i had a projector id have a cleaner beam.

I wouldn't order one of the cheap ones b/c they aren't real HID with real xenon gas.  They're knock offs.

This is the real deal: http://www.xtralights.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1349

I bought the cheapie ebay kits. I have one for sale if you are interested. I cant use it because i have no space on my bike to put it ( i use it have it under the tank without the airlid, but i cant run the bike without the airlid since it gets ridiculously lean).

The ebay kits are real HID lights, they just arent as high quality as the stuff you see in BMWs and such. PM me if you are intrested in just 1 ballast and 1 bulb. Im pretty much willing to let it go for dirt cheap.
