Hello true believers, I am the proud owner of a 2008 Tricolore. Since I have decided that this bike is the neatest thing since Tits and Beer I no longer need my trusty Road King. It's been good to me for the last 30,000 miles. No mechanical issues, great for the long haul, pimped out with tons of bling and a limited edition factory custom paint job to boot.Regardless I've decided to sell it. I know the fall is fast approaching and it's not an ideal time to sell. I don't care. The bike needs tires, probably brake pads, and a tune up. Not much but with it's higher mileage and these needs I'll price it right and still make some nice coin ( I figure 10,000 as rock bottom).

I have the following mods in mind with this booty to come. A shorty tail kit, not a chop but the DP Carbon piece that exposes the frame in the back. A carbon rear hugger. A 916 (or is it 996 i forget) front fender and maybe a cool open cover/pressure plate combo. The big money will be spent on one engine upgrade. The trouble is I don't kbnow which one to do. It already has the full system/airbox/DP ECU. I was wondering what high performance cams might be available or are recommended or should I get higher compression pistons. I guess I'm looking for advice on the best performance increasing mod. that wont compromise rideability or reliability. I commute on this thing and don't want to turn it into something that will be difficult for regular use.

ETA I could just buy a cheap beater car and get a used M750 or 900 but am not really sure if I need 2 bikes. Both times in the opast when I went this route one ended up sitting unless I had one in the shop.

What says the hive mind. Keep in mind that about half of that loot will be used to buy a car ,some guns, maybe a little jewelry for the wife so lets keep them ideas reasonable. And because I love posting it here's a shot of my baby along with the Hog that's on the chopping block.

I like the limited edition stuff. PS that's a clump of grass from my mower deck not dog doo next to the HD front tire.

Leave the Tricolore as is and buy a track bike and get really fast on that... then maybe you won't want or need any more power from your pet Grin

there was going to be something humorous here, but, unfortunately, i was in charge of the typing, and this is all i could come up with.

TSK TSK...I just want mine to go to eleven...that's all. I do like the idea of a dedicated track bike but I can't get to the track.  I work a schedule that pays me a 30% premium to work every weekend ( I get 4 weekends of a year so I have to choose very very carefully a year in advance) and I work a second job as well. I usually pull about 50 or so hours a week. I doubt a track bike would get a ton of use.

Hell, maybe you want to try and get the perception of more power....

Carbon Fiber Rims
Light way fly wheel
New gearing
Custom fairing

or you can just dump the whole thing and get a 1098R. lol but it would have to fit your body style if your gonna be commuting on it.

What he said.

Yup.  waytogo

It'll buzz up like a 2-stroke and flick like a Priller RS250.

You'll have to get a wider helmet to accommodate your permanent grin.

I agree on the carbon tray that exposes the lovely gold trellis.

and that will match...

the BST wheels.

everyone that buys them comments "it's like getting a new / more powerful bike"

better braking, acceleration, cornering....what more could you want.

reading Brad Black's dyno charts has taught me a few things - you really have to watch what you're doing with the engines - some modifications don't do anything - some change the torque/hp curves but not necessarily better.

enjoy!
