Poor video, but the audio is great.  Man was he in tune with that guitar.  Seems to be his fave, been in a lot of epic performances.

The man was a master. I so regret not seeing him live.

Case in point, he used to hold late night, impromptu concerts at his home (and studio), which was roughly an hour from mine. One of those things where if you heard about it and got there, you were in. A friend got wind and texted me wanting to run up, but unfortunately I was down for the count that night due to too many beers.  Tongue Tongue Tongue

Made me think of this gem:

Agreed.  On all points.

I, very regretfully, never saw him live either.

When I was living in Las Vegas, I was on the mailing list for HOB Las Vegas.  Timing may be slightly off, but I received an email on a Thursday evening announcing him playing at HOB the following Saturday, with a show time of either 2AM or 3AM.  I'm sure the tickets were pricey as well.  So I didn't go.   bang head bang head bang head

X is one of the greatest bands no one ever heard of. Huge on the LA scene back in the day.

seeing them tomorrow evening!  waytogo

It is crazy how times change... last time I went to see them, my buddy & I started mosh pit... everyone was kinda standing around bopping their heads to the music, and I couldn't take it anymore... we did get one or two that joined in, but for the most part, just got a lot of stink eyes from peeps (but did get smiles & a shoutout from X Wink)

I was a impressionable barely teenaged Punk-azzed kid in late 70's/early 80's down in SoCal, and X has remained near & dear...

I'll be seeing Blackberry Smoke tomorrow evening.  Smaller venue in Arlington, TX adjacent to the new Rangers Stadium.

Jealous, you're gonna love it! I'm hoping to see them again this summer.

There was no roof to blow off, but it would have been!  Charlie did make a few comments about one of the sponsors: CBD Kratom Cannabis Dispensary (which is odd, because neither medical or rec cannabis is legal in TX).  Great to see Britt behind the kit, given his health concerns.

The interlude was great on this one (not my vid):

The opening act, Robert Jon & The Wreck were definitely a great complement to BBS and worth a listen (from the next show in KC on Saturday):
